Who are you?
The Community Cookbook project started when a number of active community volunteers decided to create something that would bring the community together while benefiting local organizations and schools that are doing such great work.
Why are you doing this?
We saw a great opportunity to bring members of the community together through a cookbook. Everyone contributes a recipe, you get to know others through their shared recipes and everyone gets a great new cookbook. You always need a new recipe to try.
Beyond that through the sales of the Community Cookbook (they are affordably priced at $14.95) we can contributed directly to the important work our schools and other community organizations do to benefit the lives of youth in Pinellas County.
How do community organizations benefit?
Organizations benefit through the sales of the Community Cookbook. The more sales, the more we can give back. Community organizations are encouraged to sell the Community Cookbooks as a fundraiser.
How can schools get involved and benefit?
In addition to the community organizations, we also work directly with area schools, both public and private. Schools can involve their students through gathering recipes (we provide prizes for the most gathered) as well as selling the cookbooks (they get the sales they generate (after costs). We work through any organized student group or PTA.
